UPDATE: Wandering child found safe

The wandering child reported yesterday has been identified and found safe.

The RCMP thanks Nova Scotians for assisting with this incident through social media shares and offering tips.

 

Police seeking information after child seen wandering in Lower Sackville

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is seeking information after responding to a call of a child wandering in Lower Sackville.

On March 2, 2024, at approximately 10:27 a.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a report of a child wandering on Sackville Dr.

Witnesses reported that the child only had one shoe on. They were last seen at 10:23 a.m. leaving the Sobeys then walking towards Downsview Dr.

The child is described as approximately eight or nine years old, wearing a black jacket with the hood up, and blue or black pants.

Officers made extensive patrols and inquires throughout the day but were unable to locate the child.

Police don’t believe there is an immediate risk to the child but are concerned for his well-being.
