Heavy rainfall is expected in parts of the province over the next couple of days and may cause localized flooding
For those with rain gutters, downspouts or storm drains, try and clear them before the rain if possible. Those with properties near drains should try and make sure they are free of debris.
Electrical hazards are a concern during flooding. Power should be turned off in basements prone to flooding. Ensure sump pumps and discharges are clear for those who use.
In the case of a power outage, its is critical to properly use generators and extension cords and smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors should be checked.
