Special weather statement in effect – Update

Winter storm near the middle of next week.

Environment Canada meteorologists are monitoring the expected development of a Nor’easter that will pass south of Nova Scotia Tuesday night into Wednesday. It is still too early to make a prediction of snowfall amounts, as the forecast track is uncertain which in turn leads to lower confidence.

Onshore flurries and snow squalls in the strong northwest flow in the wake of the low are likely for northern Nova Scotia and Cape Breton later this week.

We will share additional details as they become clear, and our messaging related to this system may be escalated later today.

Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to NSstorm@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports using #NSStorm.
