Assault with a weapon

Halifax Regional Police are investigating an assault with a weapon that occurred this morning in Dartmouth.

At approximately 3:05 a.m., police responded to a report of a stabbing at Lake City Motel 40 Lake Crest Drive in Dartmouth.  Officers located a 30-year-old man who had been stabbed. The man was transported to hospital with what are believed to be life-threatening injuries.

The suspect involved in this incident left the scene in a vehicle.  It was later located on Wyse Road.  The vehicle fled from police and crashed in Chelsea Probert Park.  The driver of the vehicle was transported to hospital with unknown injuries.

Police remain on scene in both areas.  This matter is in the early stages of the investigation and limited details are available at this time.  More information will be released when known.
