Halifax Transit schedule and route changes – Monday, November 20
The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents of upcoming Halifax Transit service changes as part of the Moving Forward Together Plan – Halifax Transit’s long-term plan to better align the transit network with the needs of residents now and into the future.
The following four new routes will come into effect on November 20:
- Route 28 Bayers Lake will undergo a routing adjustment to add service to the new Bayers Lake Community Outpatient Centre on Susie Lake Crescent. Please note that Julius Boulevard will only be open to buses from November 20 until further notice;
- Route 51 A/B Windmill will now have two branches which will provide service between the bridge terminal, the Bedford Institute of Oceanography, Ocean Breeze Estates and the future Wrights Cove Terminal;
- Route 56 Dartmouth Crossing will now extend along Wright Avenue to service the future Wrights Cove Terminal and will also provide a better connection between Burnside Industrial Park and Dartmouth Crossing; and
- Route 72 Portland Hills will now travel north of Wright Avenue to service growing development in Dartmouth Crossing, as well as provide two-way service along most of the route through Burnside Industrial Park and Dartmouth Crossing.
Additional changes occurring on November 20 include 22 routes that will undergo minor schedule adjustments to improve service quality and reliability. As well, 26 routes will have 55 trips reinstated, with 12 of these routes returning to full service.
