New Weekly Traffic Advisories (Updated daily)
Note: Each week the local listings are expanded and updated. During the week new and updated tasks are added. Every week a new post is started with fresh info but previous posts may be still valid.
HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Bedford Bypass
A repaving project is taking place on the Bedford bypass westbound lanes, from the exit to Dartmouth Road to the overpass near the intersection of Highway 101.
Repairs will also be carried out to the structures over Memory Lane, Rocky Lake Drive and Highway 102.
Motorists should expect delays between sunrise to 3 p.m. The work is expected to be completed by Monday, Aug. 31.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Bell Boulevard
Bell Boulevard, from the Highway 102 northbound ramp to east of Pratt and Whitney Drive, will have lane reductions for road widening, paving, curb and intersection removal. No road closures are planned. Work is scheduled until Friday, Aug. 14.
Traffic control will be on site.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Dillmans Bridge, Meaghers Grant
Dillmans Bridge, on Wyse Road in Meaghers Grant, will be closed until further notice.
A detour is available via Old Guysborough Road. Signs are in place.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Pratt and Whitney Drive
Pratt and Whitney Drive, from Aerotech Drive to Baldwin Drive, will have lane reductions and lane closures for curb and road repair until Friday, Aug. 14. During this time Pratt and Whitney Drive, from Baldwin Drive to Bell Boulevard, will be permanently closed.
Traffic control measures and detours are in place.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Route 333
Route 333 (Brookside Road to Terence Road), is reduced to one lane for patching, crack sealing and micro surfacing until Friday, Aug. 14.
Work will take place weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Traffic control will be in place. Expect delays.

Windmill Road – Traffic Delay
Friday, August 7, 2020 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays near 520 Windmill Road, from Monday, August 10 to Tuesday, August 11.
Heritage Gas will be relocating a natural gas main in the area. Crews will be on site from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Two-way traffic will be maintained while work is underway.

Dahlia-Oak-Crichton Active Transportation Connections engagement now live
Thursday, August 6, 2020 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is inviting residents to provide feedback on the Dahlia-Oak-Crichton Active Transportation Connections project in Dartmouth.
Municipal staff are designing an improved connection between the Dartmouth Common and the Shubenacadie Canal Greenway to make it safer for people walking, rolling and cycling. This work is part of Halifax’s Integrated Mobility Plan, which identified the need for this connector as part of the Regional Centre AAA Bikeway Network. A Complete Streets lens will be used to incorporate benefits for all road users, where possible.
Residents can take the survey until August 17, and join live Q&A sessions, being held as follows:
- Monday, August 10 from 6:30 to 7 p.m.
- Tuesday, August 11 from 12:30 to 1 p.m.

Hammonds Plains Road – Road Construction
Wednesday, August 5, 2020 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Hammonds Plains Road, near the intersection at Crestfield Drive, on Thursday, August 6.
Crews will be on site from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Caledonia Road– Road Construction
Wednesday, August 5, 2020 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that road construction will take place on Caledonia Road, from Main Street to Dumbarton Avenue, on Thursday, August 6 and Friday, August 7.
Crews will be on site from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Lane drops will be in place while work is underway.

Joseph Howe Drive – Nighttime Road Construction
Wednesday, August 5 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that nighttime road construction will take place on Joseph Howe Drive, from Mumford Road to Springvale Avenue, on Wednesday, August 5 and Thursday, August 6.
Crews will be on site from 6 p.m. until 7 a.m. each day. Lane drops and occasional stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway.

Forest Hills Parkway – Traffic Delay
Friday, July 31, 2020 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents to expect delays on Forest Hills Parkway, between Chameau Crescent and Cole Harbour Road, on Monday, August 3.
Crews will be on site from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Lane drops will be in place while work is underway.

Gottingen Street – Road Closure
Friday, July 31, 2020 (Halifax, NS) – The Halifax Regional Municipality is advising residents that Gottingen Street, between North and Cogswell streets, will be closed on Monday, August 3.
Crews will be on site from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. A marked detour will be in place while work is underway. Pedestrian traffic will be directed around the work site as necessary.
