Police investigate two robberies

Halifax Regional Police is investigating two robberies that occurred in Dartmouth.

Last night, at approximately 5:10 p.m., officers responded to a robbery that had occurred at Needs Convenience located at 100 Highfield Park Drive. A man with a knife entered the store, threatened the employee and demanded money and cigarettes. The suspect fled the area on foot with a quantity of cash and cigarettes.

The suspect is described as white in his twenties with dark hair. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, blue jogging pants with red lettering, white sneakers and a black and white bandana.

This morning, at approximately 4:34 a.m., officers responded to a robbery that had occurred at the Ultramar located at 640 Windmill Road. A man with what is believed to be a firearm entered the store, threatened the employee and demanded money and cigarettes. The suspect fled the area on foot with a quantity of cigarettes.

The suspect is described as white in his 20s to 30s, approximately 5’4” tall, with a thin build, black hair and a goatee. He was wearing a gold jacket, black pants and gray sneakers.

There is some evidence to suggest that the suspect is the same for both robberies.
