Portuguese man o’ war have been spotted on Atlantic coastal beaches, including Clam Harbour Beach and Lawrencetown Beach. Sightings are relatively common at this time of year.
Visitors should use caution and avoid swimming if Portuguese man o’ war are present. Do not touch them in the water or on the shore and keeps pets and children away.
If you come into contact with one, the sting can be painful and hazardous.
