Parks Closing for Storm

Nova Scotia’s provincial and wildlife parks are closing because of predicted severe weather from hurricane Lee.
“Safety is our priority as we prepare for storm conditions forecast for the weekend. We are closing our parks for the storm and will reopen when it is safe,” said Natural Resources and Renewables Minister Tory Rushton.
Provincial parks will close on Friday, September 15:
— camping parks will close at 1 p.m.
— day-use parks will close at 7 p.m.
The Shubenacadie Wildlife Park will be closed Saturday, September 16. Staff will monitor the animals during the storm.
All parks will be evaluated for damage and safety concerns before they reopen.
Quick Facts:
— weather forecasts are for heavy rain, severe winds and pounding surf on Saturday
— the park reservation service will contact all campers with reservations affected by the closure to arrange full refunds
— park updates will be shared via the provincial parks website and social media
