Police investigate assault

Halifax Regional Police is investigating an assault that occurred at the Halifax Common Aquatics Facility last month and are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect.

On July 8 at approximately 7:10 p.m. officers responded to an assault that had just occurred at the outdoor pool at the Halifax Common Aquatics Facility. A man assaulted a 15-year-old lifeguard when they approached him in relation to pool policies. The man left the area in a vehicle prior to officers arriving on scene.

The suspect was described as Black, 40 to 50 years old, approximately 250 lbs., tattoos on both arms, short beard and long black hair that was tied back. The suspect vehicle is described as a black four-door Honda Civic.

Anyone with information in relation to the incident or the identity of the suspect, or who has video from the area, is asked to call police at 902-490-5020. Anonymous tips can be sent to Crime Stoppers by calling toll-free 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), submitting a secure web tip at www.crimestoppers.ns.ca or by using the P3 Tips app.
