Halifax Regional Police arrest suspect in​ Dartmouth Robbery​

At approximately 8:25 p.m. on August 24th, 2020 Halifax Regional Police received a report of a Robbery that had just occurred at the McDonald’s restaurant at 25 Nantucket Avenue, Dartmouth. A lone male entered the business and demanded money, a weapon was not observed. No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and the cash drawer.

The suspect was described as​ a male in his 40’s, approximately 5’5 with black hair. He was wearing a black baseball hat, sunglasses, black shorts and a black mask.​ A Halifax Regional Police K9 unit attended the area and with the assistance​ of patrol members the suspect was located nearby and arrested, items relating to the robbery were recovered.

The Forensic Identification Section is processing the scene for evidence.

A 48-year-old Dartmouth man​ remains in custody and will be​ charged with​ Robbery contrary to section 343 of the Criminal Code. He will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date.
