Municipality hosting electric vehicle test drive events

In partnership with Next Ride and the Clean Foundation, the Halifax Regional Municipality is hosting a series of electric vehicle (EV) test drive events across the region, beginning Thursday, May 18 through to the month of July.

The municipality is hosting events to promote the use of electric vehicles, in alignment with HalifACT – our long-term climate action plan to reduce emissions and help communities adapt to changing climate.

Events are being hosted as follows:

Musquodoboit Harbour Public Library (7900 Nova Scotia Trunk 7, Musquodoboit Harbour)

Thursday, May 18 – 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Woodlawn Public Library (31 Eisener Boulevard, Dartmouth)

Friday, May 19 – 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Wednesday, May 24 – Noon to 3 p.m.

Registration will open two weeks prior to each event, and participants are strongly encouraged to register online for the location they wish to attend.

During each event, participants can participate in a free test drive in an electric vehicle, information on electric vehicles, rebates, and the Municipal Electric Vehicle Strategy.

Many of the events will take place next to the future locations of the municipality’s electric vehicle chargers. Both the test drive events and the future installation of 18 chargers across the region are in support of the Municipal Electric Vehicle Strategy and efforts to support the decarbonization of transportation.
