Police charge man in relation to assault
Police have charged a man in relation an assault that occurred early this morning in Dartmouth.
At approximately 6:30 a.m. police responded to a report of an assault at an address on Gaston Road in Dartmouth. Two men were involved in a verbal dispute when one of the men threw an object at the other man striking him in the head. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. The men were not known to one another.
The suspect was arrested in the area without incident a short time later. Rahtez Tyrese Wesley, 20, of Dartmouth is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court today to face charges of:
- Assault with a weapon
- Assault causing bodily harm
- Possession of a dangerous weapon
- Breach of a court order (X 3)
