RCMP investigates fatal single vehicle crash
RCMP is investigating a fatal single motor vehicle crash that occurred yesterday afternoon in Newport Corner.
At 5 p.m., RCMP, EHS and Fire responded to the crash near civic marker 170 on Hwy. 215 where they located a small passenger vehicle overturned on the side of the road. The driver and lone occupant, a 28-year-old woman from Porters Lake was pronounced deceased at the scene.
An RCMP Collision Analyst attended, and the highway remained closed until late in the evening with traffic diverted via Lynch Road. It has since re-opened.
The investigation is ongoing.
