Police issue 105 tickets for motor vehicle-related offences

Halifax Regional Police Traffic Unit is focusing on distracted driving throughout the month of February, and this week officers issued 105 tickets in relation to motor vehicle-related offences.

Monday to Thursday, members of the HRP Traffic Unit issued 105 summary offence tickets: 25 for no insurance, 20 for using a cell phone while driving, eight for speeding, four for failing to yield to a school bus, and 48 for other offences including, obstructed windshields, faulty equipment, invalid inspections and driving without a license.

We all have a role to play in keeping our roads safe. Police remind motorists of the importance to always avoid distractions while driving. If you see someone driving dangerously, report it to police by calling 911.
