Police trying to locate lost child
Update Release on Missing Child
HRP confirm that an extensive search of Kearney Lake and the neighborhood has been completed in joint efforts to locate a girl who was reported missing by a bystander. The reported girl has not been found and there is no indication of foul play.
No missing person report has been filed by a parent or a guardian. In light of these circumstances, the search at the lake has concluded. The investigation is ongoing.
Members of the public with any information to assist are encouraged to call the police.
Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a child that has gone missing in Halifax.
At approximately 12:15 p.m. police received a report that an approximately 5-year-old girl was missing. The girl had been playing at the beach on Kearney Lake near Hamshaw Drive.
The girl is described as white, under 4’, slim build with brown shoulder-length hair. She was last seen wearing a dark peach/maroon one-piece bathing suit. The young girl left behind a pair of denim shorts with pink and green embroidery, a blue t-shirt with “Let’s go Ninja” written on it, a pair of swim goggles and a single key.
