Four arrested for Wellington home invasion
The RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division has arrested four people in relation to the home invasion in Wellington on December 24, 2020.
At approximately 2:05 a.m., Halifax District RCMP responded to a call of a home invasion in Wellington. Police arrived to find that the suspects had left the area.
The preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had been at a home with two other people when three men and a woman forcibly entered the residence and repeatedly punched the male resident. Belongings from the residence were taken by the suspects who then fled the area. The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
The afternoon of December 24, Joshua David Eye, 32, and Jeffrey Gordon Hilchie, 38, both of Wellington, were arrested without incident. Both are charged with the following:
- Two counts of Break and Enter to Steal a Firearm
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Six accounts of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Weapon for Dangerous Purpose
- Careless use of a Firearm
- Five counts of Possession of a Firearm Knowing it is Unauthorized
- Five counts of Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Commission of an Offence
- Robbery to Steal a Firearm
- Assault

On January 21, Thomas Joseph Lyle Brown, 32, of Enfield, turned himself into police after the RCMP issued a wanted person news release. He is charged with:
- Break and Enter to Steal a Firearm
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Five counts of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Five counts of Possession of a Firearm Knowing it is Unauthorized
- Five counts of Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Commission of an Offence
- Robbery to Steal a Firearm
- Five counts of Possession of a Firearm while Prohibited
- Breach of Probation

On February 11, a 23-year-old woman from Middle Musquodoboit was arrested without incident and she is scheduled to appear to in Dartmouth Provincial Court on March 24 at 9:30 a.m. She is facing the following charges:
- Break and Enter to Steal Firearm
- Assault Causing Bodily Harm
- Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
- Possession of a Firearm Knowing it is Unauthorized
- Possession of a Weapon Obtained by Commission of an Offence
- Robbery to Steal Firearm

The three men have been released from custody and are scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on March 11 at 9:30 a.m.
The investigation is ongoing and being led by RCMP/HRP Integrated Criminal Investigation Division.
