Police investigate 2​ robberies

Police are investigating 2 robberies that occurred in Halifax last night. .

On January 24th​ at approximately 5:30 p.m. Halifax Regional Police responded to a call for a robbery that just occurred at the Sobeys located at 2651 Windsor St in Halifax.

A man entered the Smoke shop, threatened that he had a weapon and demanded money and cigarettes.​ ​ The man then fled the store on foot after collecting the money.

The suspect is described as approximately 5’ 2” tall, medium build wearing a black mask.​ The suspect was wearing a grey hoodie, with the hood up and carrying a black back pack and black handbag.

On January 24th at approximately 7:45 p.m.​ Halifax Regional Police responded to a call for a robbery that just occurred at the Chebucto Grocery located at 6330 Chebucto Rd. in Halifax.

A man entered the store and demanded money, cigarettes and lottery tickets and threatened that he had a weapon. ​ ​ The man then fled the store on foot after collecting the money and lottery tickets.

The suspect, a white male was wearing a white face mask, black jacket, black pants, dark sneakers and black toque.​ The suspect was carrying a green re-usable bag.

No member of the public or staff were injured during these incidents.​

The investigations are ongoing and Police are asking anyone with information about the incidents or video from the area to call 902-490-5020.
