The Amherst Police Department would like to remind parents and guardians to talk about online safety with their kids.
It’s very easy for someone to hide their true identity online, and your child might not be talking to who they think they’re talking to. Remind them that it’s never safe to meet up with a stranger.
If something doesn’t feel right, tell someone they trust. Certain social networking apps are perfect places for predators to hide.
Keep your kids safe, and if you come across anything questionable, report it right away.
