Police charge man and woman with firearms charges
Police have charged a man and a woman after a search in Halifax yesterday related to a firearms investigation.
Yesterday morning, investigators from the General Investigation Section of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division, along with members of the Emergency Response Team and West Division Patrol, conducted a search at a motel in the 300 block of the Bedford Highway. A man and a woman were arrested and a firearm was seized.
Anthony Michael Stokes, 49, and Bayna Dawn Shea, 47, are both appeared in Halifax provincial court yesterday to face charges of:
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of a firearm without a license
- Possession of a prohibited or restricted weapon without a license
- Possession of a firearm knowing possession is unauthorized
- Storing of a firearm or restricted weapon contrary to regulations
Stokes is also facing two counts of possessing a firearm contrary to a court order and three counts of failing to obey the conditions of a probation order.
