Eskasoni RCMP charge man in attempted murder
Eskasoni RCMP has charged a man with attempted murder after a stabbing on Pine St. in Eskasoni.
On December 18, 2022, at approximately 5:25 a.m., Eskasoni RCMP and EHS responded to a stabbing that occurred at a home on Pine St. in Eskasoni. RCMP officers learned that a 43-year-old man had stabbed a woman multiple times, before he fled the home on foot. The victim, who sustained life-threatening injuries, was transported to hospital by ambulance.
RCMP officers began searching the area and located the man in the parking lot of the Eskasoni RCMP Detachment. The man was safely arrested and held in cells overnight.
Elvis Errold Janssens, 43, has been charged with:
- Attempted Murder;
- Assault with a Weapon;
- Assault;
- Uttering Threats;
- Mischief
Janssens was remanded into custody and will appear in Sydney Provincial Court on December 21, 2022, at 9:30 a.m.
