Alderney Landing to Host Classic Rock Icons at New Festival this Summer
Alderney Landing is thrilled to announce that it will host Rock The Harbour, a new three-day festival featuring some of the biggest names in Classic Rock, from August 18 to 20, 2023. The festival is produced by Sask Entertainment Group (SEG), a leading Canadian entertainment company.
The festival, dubbed Nova Scotia’s Classic Rock Festival, will feature an impressive lineup of artists, including Tom Cochrane, Kim Mitchell, Gowan, Honeymoon Suite, and more (see below for the full schedule). Tickets go on sale Friday, December 16, 2022, at 10 am Atlantic time on ticketpro.ca. 3-day festival passes start at $201.00 (plus fees), and single-day passes are available for $72.00 (plus fees). Rock The Harbour is a 19+ event.
Alderney Landing’s Executive Director, Bea MacGregor, says this festival came to fruition off of the success of the 2022 April Wine concert produced by Alderney Landing. “That was our first large-scale concert in over two years, and it was abundantly clear that people were thrilled to have live outdoor shows back on the Dartmouth Waterfront,” says MacGregor. “Rock The Harbour will be even bigger, featuring three days of Canada’s biggest and best names in classic rock!”
The event will be the first produced by SEG in Atlantic Canada. “We’re really excited to welcome SEG to Nova Scotia,” says Lori Laderoute, Alderney Landing’s HR, Events, and Operations Manager. “They’re a fantastic group of professionals who are used to delivering premiere entertainment in Western Canada. We’re looking forward to showing them maritime hospitality and all we have to offer here.”
Sandra McKenzie, the Chair of the Alderney Landing Board of Directors, points to the community cultural center’s role as a hub on the Downtown Dartmouth Waterfront. “Alderney Landing has been and continues to be a gathering place for the community. Whether it’s the Farmers Market on Saturday mornings, an Eastern Front show in our theatre, or a big outdoor music festival like Rock The Harbour, we pride ourselves on being at the heart of a dynamic Dartmouth experience.”
