**** Municipal Release

Traffic Delay – Cherry Brook Road

 

Location: Cherry Brook Road to Loon Lake Road

 

Date: Saturday, October 15

 

Time: 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

 

Details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate the Black Lives Matter- In This Together Society’s 5K Freedom Race Walk. For more information visit the race web page.

 

Traffic Impact: The race will leave the Black Cultural Centre and travel on Cherry Brook Road and Loon Lake Road. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Williams Lake Road

 

Location: Williams Lake Road, from Herring Cove to Purcells Cove roads

 

Dates: Thursday, October 13

 

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

Work details: This work is for pavement maintenance. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

 

Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Pleasant Street

 

Location: Pleasant Street, at the intersection of Irving Street

 

Dates: Wednesday, Oct. 12

 

Time: 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

 

Work details: This work is for street recapitalization. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

 

Traffic impact:  During this time, there will lane drops in place on the inbound lanes. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Nighttime Traffic Delay – Bell Road

Location:​ Bell Road, from Trollope to Sackville streets

Date: Wednesday, October 12 to Friday, October 14

Time: From 6 p.m. each evening until 6 a.m. of the following morning

Work details: This work is for the installation of tactical bike lanes. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.

Traffic impact:​ Lane drops will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – Connaught Avenue

Location:​ Connaught Avenue, from Bayers Road to Windsor Street

Date:​ Tuesday, October 11 and Wednesday, October 12

Time:​ 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.​

Traffic Delay – Quinpool Road

Location: Quinpool Road, between Preston and Oxford streets

Date:​ Monday, October 10, 2022

Time:​ 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Work details: Traffic delays will be in place to facilitate underground utility work.

Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to take alternative routes whenever possible.

Traffic Delay – Oxford Street

Location:​ Oxford Street from Quinpool Road to South Street

Date: Monday, October 10 to Wednesday, October 12

Time: October 10 – 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Traffic impact:​ During this time, there will be stop and go traffic.​Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Caldwell Road

Location: Caldwell Road, from Delta Drive to Brookfield Avenue

Date: Saturday, October 8

Time: 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Work details:  This work is in support of grading and paving operations.

Traffic Impact: This will be a moving closure that moves with the construction crews. No thru traffic will be permitted, but access to driveways will be accommodated as crews move. Pedestrian traffic will be accommodated. Traffic control personnel will be in place to direct residents. Marked detours will be in place. Motorists should expect delays and find alternate routes where possible.

UPDATE: This work will continue on Friday, October 7 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

NEW WORK

ANNAPOLIS COUNTY: Brickton Bridge, Brickton

Brickton Bridge on Mount Hanley Road will be closed for repairs from Tuesday, October 11, until Friday, December 16.

A detour is in place.

INVERNESS COUNTY: Dunmore Road, Dunmore

Dunmore Road, from one kilometre east of Trunk 19 easterly for 6.3 kilometres, is reduced to one lane for gravelling until November 30.

Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

CONTINUING WORK

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Highway 104, James River

Highway 104, westbound lane about one kilometre west of James River Interchange, Exit 30, is reduced to one lane for about one kilometre.

Twinning work continues until 2023.

Signs are in place and drivers are encouraged to use caution.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Burnett Bridge, Pine Grove

Burnett Bridge, over McLean Brook on Route 224 in Pine Grove, is closed until further notice.

Detour signs and a 30-tonne weight restriction are in place. All other trucks are to follow the posted truck route. The detour is via Saint Andrews River Road.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Old Truro Road, Tatamagouche

Old Truro Road, from Kennedy Hill intersection to the Cross Road in North River, is closed until further notice due to a large culvert failure.

A detour is in place.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Salmon River Bridge, Truro

Salmon River Bridge, on Highway 102 between exits 14 and 14A, is reduced to one lane northbound until October 31 due to planned work on the bridge decking.

Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.

COLCHESTER COUNTY: Slade Road, Tatamagouche

Slade Road is closed between Lake Road and West Tatamagouche Road until further notice due to a bridge closure.

GUYSBOROUGH COUNTY: Route 344 (Main Street), Mulgrave

Route 344/Main Street traffic is rerouted onto the newly installed detour bridge.

The entrance to Mill Street from Main Street is closed, and drivers should use an alternate route. Signs are in place.

The detour will remain in place until October 15.

HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Highway 102

Highway 102 from Exit 4A to Exit 4C will have lane reductions and intermittent road closures on the northbound and southbound highway for the construction of the Highway 107-Highway 102 Interchange.

Highway 102 northbound and southbound, Highway 101, Bedford Highway, Bedford Bypass, Duke Street, Glendale Avenue and Sackville Drive will have intermittent road closures for blasting until June 2023.

Traffic control will be on-site. Road closures for blasting will occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday to Thursday and from 9 a.m. to noon on Friday. Lane reductions will occur from sunrise to sunset Monday to Thursday and sunrise to noon on Friday.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 101, Windsor

The eastbound off-ramp at Exit 6, Highway 101, is closed for the construction of a new interchange to downtown Windsor.

A detour is available via Exit 5A. The off-ramp will be closed until September 2023.

HANTS COUNTY: Hydes Bridge, Lantz

Hydes Bridge on Highway 277 is closed until further notice.

A detour is in place via Dutch Settlement Road, Elmsdale Road and Trunk 2. Signs are in place.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Indian Path Bridge, Bayport

Indian Path Bridge on Route 332 is closed for replacement until further notice.

A detour is in place.

PICTOU COUNTY: East River West Side Road, Eureka

The section between 6280 East River West Side Road and Churchville Road is closed until October 31 for the replacement of the Eureka Mills Bridge.

A detour is in place.

PICTOU COUNTY: Westville Road, New Glasgow

Westville Road at Highway 104 is closed nightly, Sunday through Thursday, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Work continues until October 31. A detour is in place, and drivers should proceed with caution.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Port Royal Bridge, Isle Madame

Port Royal Bridge on Port Royal Road is closed until further notice. A detour is in place on MacEachern Road.

RICHMOND COUNTY: Trunk 4, Cleveland

Trunk 4, from Riverside Road eastbound for about 7.1 kilometres, is reduced to one lane for repaving until Friday, October 14.

Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

SHELBURNE COUNTY: Highway 103, Jordan Falls

Highway 103, about 100 metres west of Exit 24, has alternating lane closures for rehabilitation work on Jordan Falls Bridge until Friday, October 14.

Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.

VICTORIA COUNTY: Highway 105

Highway 105, from 3.2 kilometres west of Trunk 30, easterly to 600 metres east of Route 312, is reduced to one lane for roadwork until October 31.

Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.

VICTORIA COUNTY: Jamesville Bridge, Route 223

Jamesville Bridge is reduced to one lane for repairs until October 15.

Traffic control is on-site. Work takes place weekdays from sunrise to sunset.
