Colchester County District RCMP charge man with arson
Colchester County District RCMP has charged a man with arson after a residential fire in Bible Hill.
On October 1, 2022, at approximately 3:45 a.m., Colchester County District RCMP and fire were dispatched to a report of a residential fire on Wild Chance Dr. in Bible Hill. The fire department was able to extinguish the fire, however the residence was a total loss.
RCMP officers noted what appeared to be a fresh trail in the grass and this led them to a residence on Andy’s Ave. RCMP officers located a 43-year-old man at the residence and safely arrested him. As the investigation continued, RCMP officers learned that the man had been involved in two other arsons from November 2018 and December 2021, and he had also been involved in a separate break-in incident from December 2021.
Richard Nathan Fox, 43, of Bible Hill, has been charged with Arson (3 counts), Break and Enter (3 counts) and Theft. Fox was remanded into custody and will appear in Truro Provincial Court at 1:30 p.m. today.
Colchester County District RCMP is still investigating a number of other arsons that have occurred in the Bible Hill area over the past year. Homme accusé d’incendie criminel
Le 5 octobre 2022, Bible Hill (Nouvelle‑Écosse) – La GRC dans le District du comté de Colchester a déposé des accusations d’incendie criminel contre un homme en lien avec l’incendie d’une résidence, à Bible Hill.
Le 1er octobre 2022, vers 3 h 45, des policiers et des pompiers se sont rendus sur la promenade Wild Chance, à Bible Hill, où une résidence était la proie des flammes. Les pompiers ont réussi à éteindre le feu, mais la résidence a été complètement détruite.
Les policiers ont remarqué ce qui semblait être des traces fraîches dans l’herbe. Ces traces les ont menés à une résidence de l’avenue Andys, où ils ont trouvé un homme de 43 ans; celui‑ci a été arrêté en toute sécurité. Au fil de leur enquête, les policiers ont appris que l’homme avait été impliqué dans deux autres incendies criminels, survenus en novembre 2018 et en décembre 2021, ainsi que dans un incident distinct d’introduction par effraction, survenu en décembre 2021.
Richard Nathan Fox, 43 ans, de Bible Hill, a été accusé d’incendie criminel (trois chefs d’accusation), d’introduction par effraction (trois chefs d’accusation), et de vol. Fox a été placé en détention et il comparaîtra en cour provinciale à Truro aujourd’hui, à 13 h 30.
