Hurricane Fiona is going to bring high winds and severe weather for this region and that makes it hard for wildlife, not just people. Especially birds. Many birds can be injured and grounded as a result of being blown around in high winds.

Some water birds species like these dovkies are not anatomically able to move around well or take off from land and they get stuck inland after the storm is over.

Many others are just exhausted and cold from fighting the weather.

Anyone who finds birds or any other animals that they think need help should call their local rehabilitator for advice and help.
