September marks the beginning of Prostate Cancer Awareness Month
Did you know that prostate cancer is the most common cancer among Canadian men (excluding non-melanoma skin cancers) and the third leading cause of death from cancer in men in Canada?
It’s estimated that about 1 in 8 Canadian men will develop prostate cancer. When found early, prostate cancer has a nearly 100% survival rate. But when prostate cancer is found late, only about 1 in 4 people will survive – this is why awareness of this disease is so important.
