Ryan Taylor Wilband whom police requested the public’s assistance in locating today has been arrested by RCMP in Greenwood, Nova Scotia.

Police request public assistance in locating man missing from correctional facility
Police are requesting the public’s assistance in locating a man who was reported to be missing from a correctional facility yesterday.
On August 22 at approximately 12:30 p.m. inmate Ryan Taylor Wilband, 43, escaped from the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility at 90 Gloria McCluskey Avenue in Dartmouth.
Wilband is described as a white man, 5’6”, 140 lbs and bald. Wilband has a tattoo of a demon on his right shoulder and on his stomach. He was last seen leaving the area on foot and was wearing glasses, a blue t-shirt and blue jeans.
Wilband was in custody at the facility on several charges, including robbery, theft, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and breaches of probation.
Police are currently searching for Wilband. If anyone has any information regarding Wilband or they observe anyone fitting his description, please do not approach him and call 911 immediately.

Update – Inmate Back in Custody

The inmate who escaped from the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility in Dartmouth on Monday, August 22, is now in police custody.
“I would like to thank law enforcement for their efforts in apprehending this individual and the public for their co-operation,” said Brad Johns, Minister of Justice and Attorney General.
The inmate, Ryan Taylor Wilband, was on remand at the facility on several charges, including robbery, theft, a weapons offence and breaches of probation.
The Department of Justice is conducting an investigation of this incident.
Inmate Escape from Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility

An inmate has escaped from the Central Nova Scotia Correctional Facility in Dartmouth.
Ryan Taylor Wilband, 43, escaped on Monday, August 22, at about 12:30 p.m. He is five feet six inches tall, weighs about 140 pounds, is bald and has brown eyes.
Mr. Wilband was on remand at the facility for several charges, including robbery, theft under $5,000, committing an offence with a weapon and breaches of probation.
Halifax Regional Police are leading the investigation to find Mr. Wilband. Anyone who has information should call 911 or a local law enforcement agency.
The Department of Justice is conducting a full review of this incident
