Police charge man with child luring and child pornography offences

Police have charged a man after conducting a search in Halifax in relation to a child luring and pornography investigation.

On June 28, investigators in the Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) Unit of the Integrated Criminal Investigation Division conducted a search on Lynnett Road. Investigators seized electronic devices for forensic analysis.

Joshua Earl Oliver, 40, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court at a later date to face charges of:​

  • Luring a child
  • Making sexually explicit material available to a child
  • Making child pornography
  • Possession of child pornography
  • Making arrangement to commit a sexual offence against a child

Anyone with information on child pornography is asked to file a report by calling police at 902-490-5020 or by using Cybertip, Canada’s National Tip Line for reporting online sexual exploitation of children, at www.cybertip.ca.
