Meet the newest canine member of the CBRPS… Police Service Dog “CHIP”!

Chip will serve alongside his partner Dale – dog handler Cst. Dale MacLean – whose current canine is ready to retire. Chip is a nearly 2-year-old German Shepherd who came to us from Europe and recently completed a 16-week training certification.

Chip and Dale are ready for action in the CBRPS K-9 Unit, together with Police Service Dogs Beau (Cst. Brandon O’Donnell) and Chase (Cst. Troy Wadden).

The K-9 Unit is a crucial part of police operations: to help locate lost persons; track lost or stolen items and suspects; detect illegal drugs, firearms and ammunition; and assist officers on patrol, in drug enforcement and emergency response.

Meet the Team Monday is an ongoing feature for members, staff and teams of the CBRPS.
