Ceremonial Shots Being Fired in Downtown Halifax for Princess Louise Fusiliers Change of Command Ceremony

Residents, visitors, and people traveling through downtown Halifax on Sunday, June 5 are advised that the Princess Louise Fusiliers will be conducting a ceremonial rifle firing or ‘Feu de Joie’ with blank ammunition at North Park Armouries between 2:00 and 4:00 p.m.

The unit will be conducting a Change of Command Ceremony where Lieutenant Colonel Barry Pitcher will relinquish command to Lieutenant Colonel Rhonda Matthews who will become the first female unit Commanding Officer in the history of 36 Canadian Brigade Group.

The Princess Louise Fusiliers are a reserve force infantry regiment that traces its connection to Halifax
