Police charge man for two (2)​ robberies

Police have charged a man for two Robberies that occurred in Dartmouth this afternoon.

At approximately 2:15 p.m. police responded to a robbery that had just occurred at the Bank Of Montreal located at 21 MicMac Blvd.​ ​ ​ A man entered the bank and passed a note to the teller demanding cash.​ No weapon was scene and the man left empty-handed and fled on foot.​ ​

At approximately 2:19 p.m. police responded to another report of a robbery that had occurred at the Lids store also located at 21 MicMac Blvd.​ ​ ​ A man matching the same description entered the store and indicated he had a weapon and produced a can of sensory irritant.​ ​ ​ The man then accessed the till and​ left on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash and was apprehended​ by police shortly after.​

No staff members or members of the public where injured during either incident.

The 40 year old man is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court at a later date to face 2 charges of robbery as well as additional charges.
