Special weather statement in effect
A storm will impact the Maritimes Monday Tuesday and Wednesday likely bringing torrential rain and severe winds
Total rainfall: up to 100 mm with locally higher amounts possible
Maximum wind gusts: possibly more than 90 km/h, especially along the Atlantic coast.
Locations: Nova Scotia
Time span: Beginning Monday and extending to Wednesday and possibly beyond.
Remarks: An intensifying slow moving low pressure system will slowly move into the Maritimes on Monday. This system will then stall and give an extended period of rain, severe winds. It is too early to say what the largest rainfall amounts will be and where they will occur. Pounding surf and higher than normal water levels are possible Tuesday and Wednesday.
