RCMP investigate serious collision
Kings District RCMP is investigating a serious motor vehicle collision that occurred on Hwy. 101 in Wolfville Ridge.
On November 18 at approximately 8:40 p.m., police, fire and EHS were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision on Hwy. 101 in Wolfville Ridge. Police learned that a blue car had been travelling west on Hwy. 101 when it attempted to overtake an SUV heading in the same direction. The car collided head-on with a white car that was travelling eastbound, which then collided with the SUV that was being overtaken.
The blue and white cars both came to rest in the ditch. Both vehicles suffered significant damage. The SUV came to rest on the highway and suffered minor damage.
Police learned that fourth vehicle had left the roadway and come to rest in the ditch. The car was trying to avoid colliding with the other three vehicles when it left the roadway. The car was not damaged.
The driver of the blue car, a 31-year-old male, from West Hants, suffered serious injuries and was transported to local hospital by ambulance. He was later airlifted by Lifeflight to a hospital in Halifax. Two passengers in the blue car suffered minor injuries. The driver of the white car suffered serious injuries and was transported to local hospital by ambulance. The driver of the SUV and fourth vehicle were uninjured
