Nova Scotia RCMP wishes Nova Scotians a safe long weekend
The first long weekend of the summer is upon us; with the weather forecast calling for rain, we’re reminding Nova Scotians of some safety tips. If you’re travelling over the next few days, please:
- Give yourself extra time to arrive at your destination
- Wear your seatbelt
- Drive sober; if you’ll be consuming alcohol or cannabis, plan ahead
- If driving in heavy fog or downpours, ensure your vehicle’s lights are on so that others can see you
- Watch your speed and make sure you’re driving safely for the road and weather conditions
- Stay focused and avoid distracted driving
If you’re planning on hitting the trails with your off-road vehicle, please wear appropriate safety gear, like a helmet. And let others know where you’re going and how long you plan to be.
On behalf of our members and employees, the Nova Scotia RCMP wishes our fellow Nova Scotians and safe and enjoyable long weekend.
