Police charge man for robbery
Police have charged a man in relation to a robbery that occurred in Halifax on the weekend.
At approximately 1:45 a.m. on November 7 police responded to a robbery that had occurred at the Needs Convenience Store located at 6130 Chebucto Road. A man with a can of sensory irritant entered the store and demanded money. The man fled the area on foot empty-handed. The employees were not physically injured.
Officers arrested the suspect in the area a short time later.
Michael Keith Brown, 27, is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court today to face charges of:
- Robbery with a weapon
- Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
- Possession of a concealed weapon
- Breach of a probation order
