Kings District RCMP investigate threats against local high school
Kings District RCMP is investigating after a report of threats to a local high school in Cambridge.
At approximately 7:45 a.m. this morning, police responded to a high school on Hwy. 1 in Cambridge after receiving information that threats had been made against the school. Through the course of the investigation police determined the information received did not relate to a local high school and there was no risk to the school, staff or students.
The threat is believed to be linked to a social media post circulating in the United States regarding threats against a school with a similar name.
Police take all threats of violence seriously and this type of behaviour will not be tolerated. The RCMP remains dedicated to promoting public safety and safe communities. We would like to thank the public for bringing forward this information.
