Road Construction – Kingswood Drive
Location: Kingswood Drive from Hannah Elise Drive to Anahid Drive
Date: Thursday, September 30
Time: 9 a.m. to noon
Work details: This work is for pavement rehabilitation. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: During this work, stop and go traffic will be in place. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – Herring Cove Road
Location: Herring Cove Road, from Purcells Cove Road to Osborne Street
Date: Thursday, Sept. 30
Time: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Work details: This work is for pavement rehabilitation. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network.
Traffic impact: Stop-and-go traffic will be in place while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Construction – Duke Street
Location: Duke Street from Rocky Lake Drive to Highway 102
Date: Thursday, Sept. 30
Time: 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Road Construction – Oxford Street
Location: Oxford Street, at the intersection with North Street as well as Oxford Street, at the intersection with Chebucto Road.
Date: Thursday, Sept. 30
Time: 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Work Details: This work is for emergency Nova Scotia Power repairs to restore power at Oxford School.
Traffic Impact: Traffic signals at the above intersections will be turned off and stop and go traffic will be in place. Oxford Street will be reduced to one lane in each direction through these intersections.

Road Construction – Prince Albert Road
Location: Prince Albert Road, between Cottage Hill Drive and Kiwanis Grahams Grove Park
Date: Thursday, Sept. 30 and Friday, Oct. 1
Time: 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. each day
Work details: This work is to accommodate road rehabilitation. This project is in support of the Prince Albert Road: Road Diet Project.
Traffic impact: Stop and go traffic will be in place during this work. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible. Pedestrian sidewalk and crosswalk access will be maintained throughout construction. Access to all nearby businesses will be maintained. Your patience is appreciated while this work is completed.

Road Closure – Brookline Drive
Location: Brookline Drive, between Larry Uteck Boulevard and Elizabeth Doane Drive
Date: Thursday, Sept. 30 to Monday, Oct. 25
Time: 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily
Work details: This work is for the construction of a new roundabout at the intersection of Larry Uteck Boulevard, Broad Street (south) and Brookline Drive. This project supports the 2021-25 Regional Council Strategic Priorities Plan to establish a safe and accessible integrated mobility network and will improve access to and from current and future developments in Bedford West.
Traffic Impact: Brookline Drive will be closed at Larry Uteck Boulevard, and a marked detour will be in place. Local traffic is advised to use Belle Street from Larry Uteck Boulevard to Elizabeth Doane Drive. Temporary traffic signals will be in place at the intersection of Larry Uteck Boulevard, Belle Street and Abbington Avenue.
One lane of traffic will be maintained on Larry Uteck Blvd. in each direction during peak hours (7 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.) and there will be stop-and-go traffic during non-peak hours.
Pedestrian Impact: Pedestrian access will be maintained with the assistance of traffic control personnel during working hours. A temporary crosswalk will be placed south of Broad Street and Brookline Drive to help pedestrians cross Larry Uteck Boulevard.

Road Closure – Hobson Lake Drive
Location: Hobson Lake Drive, between Susie Lake Crescent and Horseshoe Lake Drive
Date: Friday, Oct. 1 and Saturday, Oct. 2
Time: 5 p.m. on Friday to 9 p.m. on Saturday
Details: This closure is for Ride for Cancer2021, and this section will be used for the start and finish area.

Road Closure – Summer Street
Location: Summer Street, between Bell Road and Veterans Memorial Lane
Date: Tuesday, Sept. 28 until Tuesday, Oct. 12
Time: 24 hours daily
Work details: The work is to complete the QEII Parkade at 1797 Summer Street.
Traffic Impact: The sidewalk on the west side of Summer Street will remain open during work. Local traffic and pedestrian access to the Halifax Infirmary will be maintained. Motorists are asked to use alternative routes.

Traffic Delay – Chebucto Road
Location: Chebucto Road between the Armdale Roundabout and Mumford Road
Date: Sunday, September 26
Time: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Work details: This is to facilitate Halifax Water service repair work.
Traffic impact: One-way traffic will be maintained while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Road Closure – Sackville Cross Road
Location: Sackville Cross Road, from Sackville Drive to Bruce Drive

Time: 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Traffic Delay – Joseph Howe Drive
Location: Joseph Howe Drive, between Bayers Road and Scot street
Date: Saturday, Sept. 25 and Sunday, Sept. 26
Time: 8 a.m. to 7 p.m on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday
Work details: This work is to dismantle and remove the tower crane at 3411 Joseph Howe Drive.
Traffic Impact: Two lanes will be maintained while work is underway. Motorists should expect delays and are asked to use alternative routes whenever possible.

Construction during COVID-19: Construction crews will strive to maintain physical distancing measures. However, residents may see workers within two metres of each other while completing certain tasks, which aligns with the exemptions outlined in the Provincial Health Order. If approaching construction crews, residents are asked to maintain at least two metres of physical distancing.

**** Provincial Media Release
HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY: Dillmans Bridge, Meaghers Grant
Dillmans Bridge on Wyse Road is closed until further notice. A detour is available via Old Guysborough Road. Signs are in place.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 102, Lantz
A temporary detour is in place on Highway 102 north of Exit 8, Elmsdale, for the replacement of the Nine Mile River bridges, northbound and southbound. This work is part of ongoing construction for the new Lantz Interchange and Connector Road.
The Lantz Interchange and Connector Road are expected to be complete and open to traffic by Sunday, Oct. 31.

LUNENBURG COUNTY: Highway 103
Highway 103, between exits 9 and 10, has alternating lane closures for roadwork until Thursday, Sept. 30.
Work takes place 24 hours per day.

HANTS COUNTY: Highway 101, Windsor
As part of the Highway 101 twinning project, the Exit 5A eastbound off-ramp will be closed as of Monday, Sept. 27, at 6 a.m. for construction of new ramp.
Signs are in place and work is expected to be completed by Friday, Oct. 1.

ANTIGONISH COUNTY: Highway 104, James River
Highway 104, westbound lane about one kilometre west of James River Interchange, Exit 30, will be reduced to one lane for approximately one kilometre.
Twinning work continues until 2023.
Sign are in place and drivers are encouraged to use caution.
