UPDATE: Missing man located

The man who was reported missing from Meaghers Grant has been located and is safe.

The RCMP would like to thank the public for their assistance and retweets on social media.

 

Missing person: Help the RCMP find Stephen Whelan

Halifax District RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in locating​ 51-year-old Stephen Whelan, who was last seen on August 12​ in Meaghers Grant, on Cole Rd.

Whelan is described as white,​ 5-foot-9, 150 lbs, has light brown hair, blue eyes and a goatee. Whelan wears glasses and was last seen wearing green clothing and a grey/cream coloured tilley hat. It is believed that Whelan went canoeing in his green canoe. Whelan would be wearing a blue lifejacket.

When someone goes missing, it has deep and far-reaching impacts for the person and those that know them. We ask that people spread the word through social media respectfully.
