New Glasgow Regional Police/New Glasgow Fire Department is investigating arson-seeking information from the public.

New Glasgow Regional Police/ New Glasgow Fire Department is investigating an act of arson that occurred at a vacant residence on MacLean Street, New Glasgow. The fire was reported in the early morning hours of Sunday July 04, 2021, at 5:20am. The vacant residence sustained extensive fire and smoke damage.

Maclean Street from Archimedes Street to Temperance is closed to traffic at this time 5:20 am and remains closed at 8:10 am. Motorists and pedestrians are asked to take another route.

Emergency Health Services and Trenton Fire Department along with Nova Scotia Power also attended.

The New Glasgow Regional Police, New Glasgow Fire Department, preliminary investigation has determined that the fire was intentionally set.

The New Glasgow Regional Police are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying those involved or any information that may assist in the investigation.

Police are also asking the public to check camera footage, dash cams, and other video devices that may assist investigators in solving this crime.

As arson investigation continues, police are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any unusual or suspicious activity,” said Constable Ken Macdonald. “Any information provided may be crucial in helping solve this investigation.”
