RCMP investigating fatal vehicle collision on Highway 101
East Hants District RCMP is investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Hwy. 101 in Mount Uniacke.
On August 8 at approximately 8:05 p.m., police were notified of a single vehicle collision. Police, fire and EHS attended the scene where it was determined that a vehicle had been travelling east on Hwy. 101 when it left the roadway, went through the median, across the westbound lanes and came to rest in the ditch.
The male driver of the vehicle, 20, of Dartmouth, and the female passenger, 23, of Sydney, were both pronounced deceased at the scene.
A collision reconstructionist attended the scene and the investigation is ongoing. The highway was closed for approximately six hours and has since reopened.
