Police respond for a early morning weapons complaint

Just after 7:00 A.M. today near Queen Street and Sackville Street in Halifax, police responded to a complaint from a motorist that another motorist had pointed a firearm at him.

Members of the Halifax Regional Police Patrol Division were directly in the area at the time conducting proactive patrols and were “flagged down” by the complainant. He was able to point out to police the vehicle responsible.

Police stopped the vehicle without incident and took custody of 3 people.

A replica handgun was located as was a sensory irritant spray and prohibited knife.

A 51 year old Halifax man was charged with x3 counts of Possessing a Weapon Dangerous to the Public. He was released from police custody with a future Halifax court date of August 30, 2021.

A 34 year old Halifax woman was also charged with x3 counts of Possessing a Weapon Dangerous to the Public. She was also released from police custody with a future Halifax court date of August 31, 2021.

A second Halifax man aged 29 was charged with x3 counts of Possessing a Weapon Dangerous to the Public as well as breaching 2 Release orders. He was subsequently held and scheduled to appear in Halifax court tomorrow morning.

At this point in time, the investigation is still ongoing and further charges may be pending.
