Cove 24 inch Built-in Dishwashers recalled due to Fire Hazard

 

Common name: Cove 24 inch Built-in Dishwashers

Product description: This recall involves Cove Appliance, Inc., 24 inch (60.9 centimetres) built-in dishwashers, Model Numbers DW2450 and DW2450WS. The affected dishwashers have serial numbers 20000100 through 20044445. The recalled dishwashers are identifiable by the word “Cove” on the far right side of the control panel, located on the top of the unit’s door.

Hazard identified: The heating element in the dishwasher may not properly shut off and could overheat, posing a fire hazard. As of May 19, 2021 the company has received no reports of incidents or injuries in Canada. In the United States, the company has received 5 reports of incidents, and no reports of injuries.

What you should do

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled dishwasher, unplug the dishwasher from its power source, and contact Cove Appliance to schedule a free inspection and repair.
