Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency to continue to provide bottled water to residents in the Shubenacadie Grand Lake area

 Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency will continue to provide bottled water to residents who draw water from the Shubenacadie Grand Lake area and are impacted by the blue green algae advisory.

Bottled water can be picked up at the following locations on weekdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and weekends from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. while the blue green algae advisory is in place:

•​ ​ ​ Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency Station 42, 4132 #2 Highway, Wellington​
•​ ​ ​ Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency Station 43, 22 Lakeside Drive, Grand Lake

Residents will be provided with two litres of water per person per day, in addition to one litre per day for pets. Residents may collect up to two days’ worth of water at a time.

Additional water is available from the Station water supply if residents bring their own sanitized containers. Note: If uncertain about the cleanliness of​ a personal container, it is recommended to boil the water for two minutes.
