Weekly Highlight – Dixie

Snuggly Dixie is in search of the perfect place to lay her paws. This large lady is estimated at 3.5 years young and is a very unique breed. Dixie is a Dogo Argentino. Before applying to adopt we ask that you review the attached link to learn more about this breed: http://dogtime.com/dog-breeds/dogo-argentino#/slide/1

Dixie is looking for a home with loving arms! Dixie is a large girl (just shy of 90 lbs) who loves to snuggle and give sweet Dogo kisses. Dixie loves outdoor adventures and playing in the snow. Dixie the diva needs to be the center of your world! She requires a home with adults only and no other animals. You see, Dixie is dog reactive and has a high prey-drive, which can be very common with this breed.

Furthermore, Dixie will need a large breed experienced home that will give her daily exercise and a soft place to land. Dixie can become excitable around her favorite people and loves to jump up and give face “kisses”, but sometimes forgets to close her mouth. Due to her size, this is something that will need to be addressed through consistent training.

Dixie has a medical need, in that she does have food allergies, and will require a grain free diet.

Dixie is available for adoption from the Dartmouth SPCA branch. Please specify this location when filling out your online adoption application. http://www.novascotiaspca.ca/dog-adoption-application/
