Police looking for witnesses in the 2020 homicide of Donnie Lohnes

The RCMP Southwest Nova Major Crime Unit is asking for help from anyone with information related to the unsolved murder of Donnie Lohnes.


On October 25, 2020, Donnie Lohnes was attacked near his home in Pine Grove, Nova Scotia. Lohnes died later that week from injuries sustained during the attack.

Police have interviewed multiple witnesses but are asking anyone else with information to come forward.

Investigators also believe that an additional altercation on the same day may be related to the homicide. RCMP are asking anyone to come forward if they know anything about an altercation involving a group of people October 25, 2020, between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the area of Dufferin St. near Bridgewater Honda in Bridgewater. Anyone who did not witness the altercation but was in that area at the time is also asked to contact police.

The investigation is ongoing. The Southwest Nova Major Crime Unit is being assisted by Lunenburg District RCMP General Investigation Section, RCMP Forensic Identification Services and Bridgewater Police Service.
