RCMP on scene of fatal collision
At approximately 2:16 p.m. this afternoon, Antigonish and Pictou RCMP were called to a two-vehicle crash on Hwy. 104 in Marshy Hope.
The RCMP, Fire and EHS attended the scene and found a car on the roadway and pickup truck towing a trailer in the ditch. Both with extensive damage. The driver and lone occupant of the car, a 20-year-old man from Pictou County was ejected and located a short distance from the vehicle on the roadway and pronounced deceased at the scene. Three men in the pickup truck appeared uninjured.
A collision re-constructionist is on scene and the investigation is ongoing.
Highway 104 remains closed in both directions with diversion points being Exits 29A and 30. The highway is expected to remain closed until late tonight.
