RCMP update on search for missing fishermen

Update:

The Nova Scotia RCMP Underwater Recovery Team (URT) left port at Digby this morning with the intent of conducting sonar exploration. Due to poor conditions, including swells of over 10 feet, the team turned back at Digby Neck. The URT will conduct sonar exploration when safe to do so. The aerial search was cancelled today due to a low ceiling.

The RCMP continues the search for the five missing fishermen from the Chief William Saulis fishing vessel.

Today the Nova Scotia RCMP Underwater Recovery Team (URT) is planning to conduct sonar exploration, weather and water safety conditions permitting. Also, RCMP is partnering with the Department of Lands and Forestry to resume the aerial search, weather permitting.

The Nova Scotia RCMP will be providing the public with daily updates and information on the search for the missing fishermen.
