This message was forwarded to parents of students at the school.
Public Health has confirmed that an additional person connected to Shannon Park Elementary has tested positive for COVID-19.
Public Health is now working to identify any students and staff who may have been in close contact with the confirmed case.
Out of an abundance of caution, and in consultation with Public Health, our school will remain closed to students until at least Wednesday, December 16, as Public Health engages in contact tracing. Our staff will support students to continue their learning.
Following the closure on Tuesday, the school received a comprehensive cleaning. As part of this process, electrostatic sprayers were used to ensure all surfaces were disinfected.
We will provide parents with an update on reopening on Tuesday, December 15.
