Changes to registration at Emera Oval beginning Monday, Jan. 25

Due to high demand for skate times, the registration process at the Emera Oval will change effective Monday, Jan. 25.

The registration process will now be available on a 48-hour rolling schedule, meaning residents can book up to 48 hours in advance of their desired skate time.

  • For example: Registration will open Monday at noon for the Wednesday at noon skate time.

This change aims to assist more residents in accessing skate times. Previously, registration opened at 8:30 a.m. for the following two daily skate schedules.

As mandated by the province, capacity will be increasing on Monday to 140 skaters, with ten spaces reserved for staff support. If provincial gathering restrictions increase, the municipality will increase capacity at the Emera Oval accordingly.

Staff will continue to work with public health to assess and adjust protocols as needed to balance demand and the safety of all participants and staff.
