Are you or someone you know looking for a barn cat?
The cats in this program are not your typical house cat, they have come from an environment where they have lived outside for most or all of their lives. These cats can not be rehabilitated without often years of intensive socialization and if placed in a home environment show signs of stress and may growl, hiss or scratch. For various reasons we are not able to release these cats back to the environment they came from, typically because there is no longer a caregiver to help them.
We are looking for working cat homes that will provide shelter, care and food for these cats to keep them safe and supported while they live their outdoor lives. Email us at catcolony@spcans.ca and let us know what kind of environment you have to provide for a working cat.
